(Counseling and Automobile Repair)
C.A.R. Ministry
is an interdenominational ministry
whose purpose is to minister to the financially-challenged persons living in
Spartanburg County. The ministry provides financial counseling, automobile
maintenance and repairs, and spiritual encouragement to the Glory of God through
the spirit and example of God's son, Jesus Christ.
What is the need for this ministry?
Living a full life, supporting self
and family, maintaining a sense of personal integrity, and freedom are but a few
of the aspects of the many-faceted gift of life. Christians are called to share
the abundant life of grace in Jesus Christ.
In Spartanburg county, SC, we are
blessed to have many ministries organized to meet health, safety, nutritional,
and sheltering needs. Another vital need in the modern world is transportation.
Today, a car is not a luxury in American society, but a necessity to get to
work, get children to school, get to health care appointments, and
get shopping done.
The care and maintenance of an
automobile is an expense that can break the budgets of financially-challenged
families. The loss of transportation can lead to a host of troubles (from job
loss to being unable to get to vital medical appointments or pharmacies.)
Thus, maintaining a vehicle is a
must. The C.A.R. Ministry
has been established to help local financially distressed families with budget
planning and automobile maintenance and repairs.
Since its beginning in 1999, the
C.A.R. Ministry
has put into place a reliable network of financial experts and counselors who
advise on accountability and appropriate insurance coverage.
The
C.A.R. Ministry
leadership team is made up of
members from Inman Presbyterian Church, Joy Lutheran Church and First Baptist
Church, Gowensville and is supported by individuals and churches from across the
county.
Inman Presbyterian Church also works
